Role: Personal Care Assistant Team Leader x2 (Full time, permanent)

We have an urgent requirement to recruit two Personal Care Assistants with Team Leader responsibilities to start with us as soon as possible. Immediate interviews will be offered to applicants meeting the criteria for the role.

For this rewarding role you’ll need to be patient, caring and reliable and have a desire to help others. Applicants must live in, or very close to, Calderdale, drive and have their own car. Two references will be required. An enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service check) will be required. You must have a mobile phone (data allowance paid).

Customer visits take place throughout Calderdale where we support older adults to lead an independent life in their own homes and communities. You’ll have a varied rota which can include care, companionship, personal care, meal preparation, light cleaning and tidying, supervising medications, support to attend appointments, shopping or social outings. Our visits normally last a minimum of one hour so you’ll have sufficient time to make a real, positive impact on the lives of the people you’re supporting.

In addition, you’ll supervise a team of Personal Assistants to ensure they have the support, skills, knowledge, experience, and encouragement they need to provide the best possible care for our customers.

Flexible Hours (approximately 7 hours per day) between 7am and 10pm based on customer requirements. Some evening work is required. Alternate weekend work is required.

Salary: £23,712 to £25,536 per annum depending on experience, plus additional payment when on call.

Location: Domiciliary Care – Team Leaders work with customers in their own home and/or in the community or in the office when working on administrative and supervisory tasks.

Qualifications – Our Team Leader roles require a Level 3 (or higher) Diploma in Adult Health and Social Care qualification or a similar or higher qualification.

Schedule: 152 hours a month to be worked Monday to Sunday and Bank holidays.

Driving Licence: (required)

Work Location: In person in the office in Greetland and in customers' own home.

Primary responsibilities 

  • To support our customers throughout Calderdale in a range of daily living tasks that may include:

- Shopping

- Light domestic duties i.e. laundry, cleaning etc

- Managing their personal affairs/paperwork

- Supporting clients at social activities, events, functions

- Preparing meals

- Personal care

  • To support, co-ordinate and supervise a team of Personal Assistants (PA’s)
  • To undertake duties as part of the ‘On Call’ Service Rota as per the On Call policy
  • To undertake customer assessments and reviews

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • To provide a truly person-centred approach to the delivery of Passion for Support services
  • To ensure that a seamless, and informed service is delivered at all times
  • To take direction from the Registered Manager and/or Service Co-ordinator to ensure services are responsive, customer focused and delivered in a professional manner at all times
  • To work within, and adhere to, Passion for Support policies and operational procedures
  • To attend regular 1-2-1 supervision sessions and team briefings
  • To ensure management systems & paperwork are accurately completed and within agreed timescales
  • To regularly complete service monitoring & staff shadowing
  • To develop effective, positive and respectful working relationships with customers & staff
  • To maintain professional standards and boundaries at all times
  • Keep up to date with relevant Health & Social Care policies, changes and training
  • To work effectively on own initiative and also as part of the management team
  • To ensure all services are undertaken within an appropriate equal opportunities framework.
  • To work towards & achieve appropriate qualifications in Health & Social Care
  • To represent Passion for Support at meetings, events or conferences as directed by the Registered Manager.

 

Professional development / Career progression
